When are the best times to plan a trip to Bali from India? Well that would depend on what you are looking for. Whether it is the best deals or perfect weather. Bali is on the other side of the world in the southern hemisphere so the seasons are just the opposite of summer and winter in India.

Bali known around the world for its tourist attractions visited by tourists from many countries has a tropical climate and warm all year round with an average temperature range of 26°C to 30°C. which has two distinct seasons within a year.

Month-by-Month Breakdown

January – March: The Rain & Culture

The best time to go to Bali has to be these months – for Indians, it’s the cheapest time of the year. Although it is extremely hot (particlarly during the afternoons) and extremely humid (averaging 85%), there are many dry spells of bright sunshine. The Balinese New Year, Nyepi, usually occurs in March, and witnessing the whole island come to a standstill on the Day of Silence is an amazing spiritual experience. Great for “Lush Green” photography in Ubud.

April – June: The “Sweet Spot”

When the rain finally stops, the island is transformed into a vibrant paradise. The humidity levels take a dip, and a gentle breeze starts to blow, making the air feel fresh and cool.

You get the great weather of July, but without all the crowds and high hotel prices, making it a really good deal. It’s great for diving and snorkeling because the water gets really clear.

July – August: The Peak Season

Weather: Perfect. Very little rain, sunny days, and “cool” evenings (around 22°C). This is the best time to visit if you don’t mind big crowds, because the weather is usually dry.

Warning: Expect inflated flight prices from India and “High Season Surcharges” at resorts. Book at least 4 months in advance.

Best Time to Visit Bali from India

September – October: The Transition

It’s looking like September will stay pretty dry for the most part, but as we head into October, the humidity will start to make a comeback.

September is a great time to visit, often referred to as the “Unsung Hero” of months. The weather is usually still really good, but the big crowds that come with summer have gone home. This makes it a good time to come and explore without all the hustle and bustle.

Activities: Best time for visiting temples like Tanah Lot without thousands of people in your selfies.

November – December: The Festive Monsoon

Weather: Rain returns. November is very humid.

December is a really popular time to visit, mainly because of Christmas and New Year’s – it’s the perfect time to get into the holiday spirit. Lots of people from India like to go to Bali for New Year’s Eve, especially to places like Seminyak and Canggu, even though it’s usually rainy around that time.

Travel Tips for Indian Visitors (2026)

If you’re an Indian citizen traveling to Indonesia, you can get a Visa on Arrival, which costs around ₹2,700 or IDR 500,000. But to make things easier and avoid waiting in line at the airport, you can also apply for an e-VoA online beforehand.

Currency Tip: 1 INR ≈ 188 IDR. Carrying a Forex card is better than carrying stacks of Indonesian Rupiah.
